How Will You Change the World Today?

Everything's about changing the world these days, but how realistic is it to think we can actually do that? Can you, a single person in a world of 7 billion, do anything significant enough to make a real difference?

One of my mentors, Bill Cumming, thinks you can. In fact, what I hear from Bill repeatedly is this:

Everything you do makes a difference.

Whether we know it or not, we're changing the world every day. It changes with every word we write, every phrase we speak, every act we carry out and every choice we make. So we need to ask ourselves:

Do I want to be part of the problem or part of the solution?

And assuming we'd rather be part of the solution, we have a responsibility to point ourselves in that direction daily, forgiving ourselves when we go astray or miss the mark, and moving back into integrity as soon as we see we're off track.

Changing the world isn't always about dramatic acts taken by a handful of 'special' people. It's most often about the courage we can each call forth daily to do what we know is right in a world that seems to be constantly asking us to do what we know in our hearts is wrong.

Take the time to point yourself in the direction of the world you want to live in and then ask yourself:

How will I change the world today?

Love and courage,
